LOL, if the OP didn't say her daughter already picked something I would have said that knowing the woman's general size would be helpful, because I've always thought the exact opposite of what I quoted here!

I've always felt that most cars are designed for smaller, short bodied, short legged people! I'm 5'7" with long legs and arms, and I have a hard time fitting comfortably in a lot of cars (not enough leg room, and the headrests sit in very uncomfortable spots), and with my dad and brother, who are both 6'4", finding care with enough leg room is really "fun"... You should see us at the Chicago auto show! We run around sitting in every car that looks like it might be big enough, and a good 75% just don't even come close.

Wch1day- I LOVE sport seats! And I am a very big bodied person! My moms Mini Cooper S has sport seating, as did my old Audi, and a few of my dad's cars. Though my family also likes to drive like they're on a race track, so the sport seats are really nice for that LOL

My hubby and I just went and drove a bunch of hatchbacks and smaller SUVs. I had a 2010 Maxima so I wanted something that had the same level of quality, responsiveness and agility, and we wanted the ability to haul more than just a trunk of stuff. I miss my big ol' truck!

I ended up with a Kia Sportage and he got a Kia Forte 5 door. We LOVE them! I drove the Rogue, Outback, Outlander, Forrester and Sorrento and found the Sportage to have the most features for the money, the most responsive gas pedal, and the best gas mileage. It doesn't feel cheap inside - important for me since the Maxima spoiled me. Plus I love the warranty!

Hubby drive the Civic, Prius, Insight and settled on the Forte. He was mostly concerned with gas mileage, but the Hondas were very cheap on the inside and didn't come with bluetooth at the trim level we were shopping. They also were VERY uncomfortable and noisy. The Prius was just too expensive for what you get. And again, the Kia has a great warranty.

Not to mention, we had much better bargaining power, knowing we were shopping for TWO cars LOL!

Our neighbor came by afterwards and gave hubby a hard time. In four years, we've gone from each having a Dodge Ram, he had a collector's era Mustang and a Harley, and then my Maxima, all gone now, and now we have a glorified station wagon and an SUV. He wanted to know when we were having kids. LOL!!!!
