Custom Portraits of Saddlebred Rescues and Others

http://forum.saddlebredrescue.com/to...?TOPIC_ID=3498

Molly does beautiful work on oil or wood. Here is an example of a work in progress of Tonic:

You may contact her at: Ms Molly Jahncke [mollyjahncke@yahoo.com]

She is donating a certificate for a portrait at the SADDLEBRED RESCUE LUNCHEON AUCTION this year; I think it is on Monday. Also she stated any portraits of SBR horses she does will have the proceeds after costs to go to SBR.

Lisa Beat me to the Punch...I mean to the Post!

Thank you, Lisa, for starting this thread (and for the nice compliments)!!!

A few more details about me and my offer:
I'm an artist in New Orleans who paints, among other things, pet portraits. Here are couple samples of my animal work:
"The Arabian Tent", classical interpretation, 36"x48"
http://i730.photobucket.com/albums/w...0_smallest.jpg

"Haley", Rottweiler portrait, 5"x7"

"Monarch of the Jungle", from The Butterfly Project, a show/sale of Louisiana artists' paintings on butterfly-shaped wood to benefit cancer research

I've offered to donate the proceeds (after cost) from the sale of certain commissioned horse portraits to SBR. The portraits are done in oil on either 8"x10" canvas or similarly sized wooden plaque (client choice), based on photograph(s) provided by the client.

Usually, my portraits this size sell in a gallery for $250-350; but I'm offering to do single-subject (one horse) head portraits of any rescue in this size/material/medium for just $75 each - of which $50 from each will be donated to SBR - and of any other horse for just $100 each - of which $75 from each will be donated to SBR.

As an example, I did the 11"x14" oil portrait on wood of the wonderful SBR rescue Tanqueray and Tonic that Lisa posted here. It's still a work-in-progress, but the finished piece will be on display at SBR's Louisville Luncheon silent auction, to which I'm also donating a gift certificate for a custom horse portrait of the same materials and dimensions.

For more information or to place an order, please feel free to email me at mollyjahncke@yahoo.com.

SPECIAL OFFER DURING AUGUST 2010 ONLY: If you adopt one of the available treasures from Saddlebred Rescue during August 2010, I'll do a custom portrait of him or her for FREE! Check out the gorgeous future painting models for adoption on SBR's forum now!!!

Oh, that's wonderful - congratulations!!! So who is your treasure? My sister and I adopted CJ (formerly Bullwinkle) and Power Ranger, and we LOVE LOVE LOVE them!

The idea behind my offer to paint for free the SBR rescues adopted during August 2010 was to encourage folks to take a look at the wonderful horses SBR has available and adopt RIGHT NOW so SBR can get the desperately needed space for more treasures - esp. the ones that were waiting at the broker's to be saved!

But I congratulate you, admire you and thank you for being an "early bird" angel!

But you could still have Molly do a portrait for $75 which is a fabulous deal! I am planning to have mine done, maybe even all three of them!

Get your holiday orders in!

Just wanted to remind everyone that my offer is still open for discounted custom portraits in oil to benefit Saddlebred Rescue:

- only $75 each for 8"x10" or 11"x14" on canvas or wood of your rescue ($50 goes to SBR)
- only $100 each for 8"x10" or 11"x14" on canvas or wood of any other pet/animal ($75 goes to SBR)

The entire process to select a pose/background, receive photos for me to work from, paint, make any requested changes, topcoat, dry and ship can take 4-6 weeks -- so now is the time to think about Christmas and other holiday presents! Feel free to PM me or email me at mollyjahncke@yahoo.com for more information.

In addition to the other paintings posted in this thread, I just finished the following of rescue "Lady" for a client who requested two versions:

Here's version 1 - "Sweet Lady"

And here's version 2 - "Sassy, Mischievous Lady"

And here's a work in progress of ASB "Skippy":
