Racing-type quick hitch harness - any reason NOT to use one for jogging at home?

The title basically sums up my question. Is there any reason one should NOT use a racing type quick hitch harness and jog cart for working horses at home? Different pressure points, direction of pull, etc? I tested it on my broke to death golden oldie yesterday, and it seemed to do ok.

Would there be a way to convert the clip-in quick hitch to being tied in, like "normal" work harness/carts? I've got an old Pennsbury wood classic jogger that one of the previous owners (very obviously) cut the shafts down and attached the quickhitch couplers to. The shafts are shorter, so I couldn't pull the cart up to where a pleasure cart would usually be, but maybe add straps to the coupler on the cart, to snap to a breastplate?

Let me know what you think. I just want to make sure what I'm using will be safe, and comfortable for the horses. Thanks!

Since we also used to have Standardbreds, we also used the quick hitch on the SBs - no reason not to.
