My girls have started ground driving their 29 year old Shetland x Welsh pony, aptly named Pony.

Here he is next to my 15.3H ASB. I've never sticked him...maybe 12/13H?

Any recommendations for 2 wheeled carts? Something sturdy and safe as my daughters
(9 years old) will be driving together.

Unless I want to spend $2500, I can't find anything other than mini or horse sized! I can't be looking in the right place!

I don't have a clue where to find a pony cart, but how cute is that photo?:)

Since I'm guessing you'r not looking for a show cart, why not check Ebay? They had tons of step-in's listed (which have the added bonus of being harder for tiny humans to fall out of than a regular jog cart!) when I was looking for a roadster sulky a while back, many of them normal pony sized, and all for pretty good prices.

I had the Jerald Runabout, which I believe comes in pony size. It can seat two and is sturdy. National Bridle Shop carries them.

I have a cart, it is old but te bones are good that you can have if you can find a ride from Knoxville. It may need new tires...let me rephrase..it needs new tires and tubes. Let me know. Happy to help. It is a old road pony buggy. ;)

LOL, pretty darned cute!! I am so fortunate to have two daughters that share my love of horses.

All three of us are diving into the world of driving now - I'm ground driving all three with hopes of showing Moe next year in CP driving (just something new and fun to do!) and before my mom passed away, her goal was to break Jack (QH) to cart. It's my responsibility to fulfill her wishes. The girls, especially Alexis, are having a BLAST ground driving. She actually prefers it to riding!
We have a friend at our barn that just broke her SSH to drive and my girls love hanging out with her!
She has ASB experience and is a good source of information and help!

I checked National Bridle and see they have an EZ Entry Cart, labeled Horse, but then when you click it says Pony. Hmmmmm...Guess I should call! lol

Oh, and if you want to see cute, here's a girl and her pony...best friends forever! And yes, he's almost 30 years old. With Cushings. Still hits the trails and jumps!

Oh, if anyone is looking for a 10 and under pony catch rider/driver in the Carolinas in 2012, here's your girl!!!
Also doubles as a kick a$$ groom and can throw hay! :)

Sure! You will have to talk to Santa tho about delivery! LOL! I will tak a picture of it when I get home. Nothing wrong with it at all. Makes a good work cart. As far as harness, you might call Terry Bennett and see if he has any used around? Looks like hackney harness would work fine. Would give you that too but I almost had to take a bank loan to buy it! Freidman set.. Lol. Let me send a picture and then we can post something about a ride... ;)

I was all excited about purchasing some cheap nylon harnesses but was slapped back to reality when everyone told me how dumb that was.

Can't wait for photos!

Hey I know of some. Call hillarey Whitaker @ 3-t farm in scottsville. She had some Amish pony harness, maybe One set left, for sale. The horse runs about 500 so it will be less than that. It is quick hitch. Good stuff. I have a set of horse harness. Hard to tear up!

if you want nice nylon instead of cheap nylon with leather lines, but for cheap nylon price, let me know. I found a source, it's pony putz around perfect.

I agree with Tiffani, the Jerald Runabout is a nice, sturdy, easy entry cart and I'm pretty sure it comes in pony size too.

A guy that I used to board at the same stable as me drove his Hackneys in full size horse carts. . . I guess it can be done. . .

The Herrons live about 8 miles from me.

Jules, have you checked Craigslist? I got Chuck and Larry's (the mini donks) cart on Craigslist this summer. I think I paid $150? It took a while of checking back, but I did finally find something inexpensive and it's in excellent condition.

Hey, can you pm me your email address or a cell number? I have pictures on my phone but can't figure out how to get them from my phone onto trot! It's a good cart!
