what shippers are charging per mile right now? Doesn't have to be exact just an approximation. Thanks.

It might vary by geographic area and shipper, but in midwest/MO, I think it is 60 - 70 cents/mile unless it is a 'big name shipper' type company which presumably has higher overhead than the average uship quote one might get.
