So back in the middle of the winter I roached my horses mane because I royaly fricked it up while pulling it, and I like my horse with a roached mane, however my trainer almost strangled me when she saw it (understandable, typical dressage trainer here) and I really don't mind braiding her mane for shows so I let it grow out. Now my 4H show is in two and a half weeks and the mane is still sticking up like a zebra. It should any day now flop over. With my luck it will flop over after the show. If I were to roach it again it wouldn't be grown out in time to braid for my big regional show in sept. Sooo im stuck in a rock and a hard place. Any suggestions?

When my horse's mane was growing out from having been a three-gaited horse, we kept it braided 24/7. That helps train it to lay down when it's not in braids.
you can braid it and then tie in or tape in small fishing lead weights, they will help keep the hair down.

If you're braiding it to show, it should lay down fine.
Get a neoprene full neck sweat or a full neck mane tamer. Those work really well.

find a sleazy/ mane tamer for her to wear until your 4-h show. good luck!

All of the above, and.....DON'T SHAVE IT AGAIN. If you want something with a roached mane, get a 3 gaited horse or a mule.

braid it and/or use a slinky. if you braid it, make sure to braid/pull down toward the shoulder not out. the braids will lie down better. keeping it braided is a good idea (just like most do with the tails minus the vet wrap/tail bag)

bathe her, band or braid the mane, tightening the bottom hairs at the base of the hairs, then put a sleazy on when the hair is still damp. Works great. The last horse I showed with a zebra mane went from this (https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/6768_598686266219_45801074_35595032_100849_n.jpg) to this (https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.598673077649.2157654.45801074#!/photo.php?fbid=598686281189&set=a.598673077649.2157654.45801074&type=1&theater) just by doing that simple trick on the night before shows.

Thanks guys! I banded it today and used some gel to hold the hair down. So now instead of sticking up it sticks out to the side! It's a start!

I ride dressage and I keep my horse's mane hogged, my instructor (who is a GP competitor) doesn't turn a hair, and nobody seems to comment on it at training days/tests.

you might want to look on Dover's website (http://www.doversaddlery.com/product.asp?pn=X1-10159&ids=530493344) and give Twisteez Braiding Wire a try....I'm going to get some to use on the weanlings I get each fall to help train those w/ "zebra" manes and the ones that have a section of mane that goes the wrong way....looks like it might just make the process a lot easier. Good luck!
