If this one (was identified earlier as 12-28-19 but number has been changed to -14) is not a Saddlebred, I will eat my hat! There is no accompanying text yet, but in this and the other pictures, this one has the look of eagles. Look at:
http://www.ac4h.com/DSC02718.JPG
or http://www.ac4h.com/BrokerOwned2.htm
The page is still being updated but I wanted to start this thread now in case trot goes into maternity hiatus mode suddenly. He is now 12-28-14 not -19. The BOP pages have been updated, with additional Saddlebreds identified as such. Edited to add, I have a hunch he just came out of a show barn, look at those neatly trimmed ears.

This is from Christy Sheidy on facebook. I asked for clarification that it includes this guy. Once I know the answer to that, I'll post it. At this time, I am going to guess that it does.

"AC4H will be fundraising for the broker horses this week. Our goal is to pull the entire load. We need approved homes and tax deductible donations. All donations go to AC4H and if someone wants to help they need approval before they fundraise and we need a release, shipping confirmation pickup for Monday and to talk to the person taking the horse this is the only way it can be done, thank you."

It looks to me, from his expression and kind eye, that this one will prove to be a good thinker. I just wish I was ready to take on an equine mouth to feed, as this one has really grabbed my attention. I hope someone will find a spare bit of pasture for him, or even room in a garage, LOL!

12-28-08 liver chestnut gelding

His number has now been changed to -07. 12-28-12 is identified as a Saddlebred mare. They both look as if they have 'Fizz' bloodlines, whereas number 14 has that 'Supreme pretty' look.

That liver chestnut gelding looks like he would make a really nice sporthorse type...big and solidly built and takes a big step behind. I hope somebody scoops him up... :001_unsure:

Wow! 12-28-14 looks a lot like Memphis, my first rescue, one of the horses you guys saved in august! they carry themselves very similarly, wonder if they have the same daddy?

Am I missing the pricing? Certainly they are not free....but I've been to the Broker pages and FB and there are no prices for any of the horses.....grrrr only have til Friday.

Mona129
12-29-2010, 06:29 PM
As it was explained to me by Christy earlier, they have a whole load price and it will be ALL or NOTHING. I am hoping since the fundraising will go completely across the board, this will actually HELP us get these guys out, one big pool to draw from. SO, anyone who is interested in giving any of these guys a home, get your paperwork in!! you could get the horse for the cost of transport!

Also, my sporthorse pick for this week would be the liver chestnut, I really beleive he could get up the levels quite nicely or could be a lovely hill topper. Uphill build, nice back, well balanced, nice big hind quarter and a VERY lovely stride.

mona, prices are up! the papered one "generous spirit" makes me extra sad!! does this mean the breeder who showed him dumped him?????? he has never left the breeders ownership? this guy has won monies too!

Does anyone know the current listed owner? Maybe the horse was sold and papers never transferred to new owner? Or perhaps the owner consigned the horse to sale recently?

Definitely no price bargains for sure...broker is looking to make a killing on the last load of the year...no pun intended.

He probably went through TSE or one of the other sales. Possibly never had papers transferred and he was only shown in hand. 2006 model pretty horse.

:thumbup1:

If he is sound of mind and body, he would make a really nice dressage and/or hunt type horse with a little refreshing under saddle.
Plus he looks very tolerant and kind.

Someone found him in the Superior Sale catalog, number 304. His description in the catalog said "Reserve champion as a futurity weanling at the Illinois State Fair, he’s necked up and
straight backed! Really good sized, sturdy gelding—with not much wear and tear. This
junior horse’s dam is by CH Epcot Center and his sire is line bred CH Valley View Supreme.
Been kept at home, family cared for and also fits in well in a training barn. If
you’re looking for happy face to great you at the front of the stall or paddock , he’s your
boy!"

He does indeed have a heavy infusion of Valley View Supreme, 3 times in his pedigree.

Good sleuthing, glad you looked there, I had not even thought of that angle! I hope Jubilee may have some helpful info, will PM her to look at this thread. I also contacted the agent who put him through, in case they can see if the original owners will be (as I would be if I were they) aghast at what has happened to (per sale writeup) what was apparently a homebred/backyard pet, and might then just want him back? Can you imagine just how confused this poor boy must be, probably wondering where his herd, blankie and familiar surroundings went and why he is so far away from home.
Edited to add, I heard back from one of the 2 trainers who agented him through the sale, and wheels are in motion to help this horse. It is sooo heartwarming to know that they are the 'good peeps' I thought they were!

Indeed! I got some additional info on this horse, that he is definitely a pocket pony, is broke to ride, could be either a lesson horse, or Western (trail or show) horse and is big and sturdy enough for a large rider. He still needs a new permanent home, so if his previous trainer does not get around to posting more on trot about him, she is on Facebook, PM me for contact info for her if you need it.

Jeanie just let me know on the other thread about my horse that someone in Illinois might want their horse back... My horse and at least one more is leaving on Saturday for Indiana and he is hoping to take 3 or 4 more to lower the cost for us all.... If the horse can leave early on Saturday maybe this would be extra incentive for the previous owners!

Yes, 12-28-14, previous trainer sponsored him (per update I got from Christy) but to the best of my knowledge, Christy still needs to be contacted by whomever is actually taking him...but I think previous trainer also is networking on the gelding's behalf to line up a home. So, anyone who is on the fence, get in touch with Christy at AC4H...nice young horse, no road warrior leg abuse to recover from; someone is going to be very lucky to have this boy! If my living location situation were more settled I would grab him myself.

ugggg...i hate/love reading these threads... they break my heart because i feel for the horses love how people step up to the plate for people...im going to look at one monday(for the daughter) whos owner cant keep anymore as she is now in the hospital with signifigant health problems... and personally i have room for another, but leave so often that it makes personal horse ownership soooo impractical...

he looks like such a nice sort, hope he finds a good home!

We all can do only so much. Don't beat yourself up and it is a good thing that you might take your sick friend's horse. If you can. Keeping them out of the pipeline is part of the work we all collectively try to do. Each one of us can only do so much, but together we do alot more. Anne

Bunny has the winter off to be a young horse and GROW and PLAY. I need to go out and take new pics of him, hopefully as soon as we get some new snow and this place is looking pretty in a white blanket, I hate the ugly brown and mud, nothing looks pretty with brown and mud! He is truly one of the nicest, kindest horses I have ever met. He is just as honest and good thinking as he appeared. I am REALLY looking forward to this spring when I'll be able to go trail riding on him WITH my daughters along on the pon-eh! Thats a BIG mom moment :)

What makes me even happier is to know that I am going to have one of the most amazing partners for most of the rest of my life in him.

PS. he has hocks that most SP horses dont even seem to have these days, that boy can really pick em up and put em down, front and back!

So, is this gelding going to the former trainers' in IL, and they're looking to find a home to adopt from there? Just want to make sure I have it right -- have someone in mind who may be interested but wasn't sure from where the shipping would be...

sdlbredfan
12-30-2010, 06:25 PM
I do not think he is going back to IL necessarily. Christy still is insisting upon completion of the 'normal routine' AC4H approved home stuff, as stated on that website. All the wonderful trainers did was make sure that his bail was paid, someone else has to take the initiative to get in touch with Christy to arrange taking possession of the horse. That is, at least, what little I know...please check with Christy for the latest! He is featured now on page 1 of the site's broker owned section, pretty cool!:

still needs a home!!!! trainers paid bail but this guy still needs home offer! I don't have an empty stall or I would! as already stated christy is making you go thru the motions with them. from what the trainers have said, he has been kept at home and also a training atmosphere so he could go either way!!

Because he was in a trainer's care before the end of November sale, and that sale had rules regarding health etc, he can be presumed to be up to date on his vaccinations, IMO.

He is one handsome guy. I have been talking to my husband about him since I am still looking for a horse for him and this guy sounds like he might be a good canidate. Hard for me to even think about a chestnut though! Only kidding, he is striking even without spots:tongue_smilie:

Seeing Spots!!!! if you want him then he can ride with my horse!!!! they leave on saturday so you will have to get through the process quickly.. i talked to christy to make sure he can leave on saturday instead of Monday. shes says it will cost 50 to go get him by himself and there would be no time for vetting but it may be worth it because Brian says the more horses he can get the less he will charge us (if he gets enough, so far there are definitely 2 of us possibly 3 and if you take one 4 and I possibly (slight possibility but still) have a friend that may be interested in the other gelding, that makes 5 so the price should be very reasonable... so if you really want him (he is gorgeous i must say!!!!) then get through the process and Brian (Featheringill) says he just needs to know before he leaves with my horse (obviously you will want to let him know tomorrow) YAY lets save 'em!

Mare 12-28-12 and gelding 12-28-7 they actually would make a nice pair. MAre looks to be bagged up and in her teens 15.2 bail is 375. Gelding is taller and fancies 650. look toboth be liver chestnuts. With VOICE FOR HORSES no longer involved these is no saftey net for these horses anymore. I'm told none will be held over.

Hello!

I wanted to let all of you know that I am the one who adopted Generous Spirit. I tried to post last year, but didn't get my "trot" membership approved until today! We live in PA, and "Mick" has had a wonderful life, enjoying daily turnout, since I've owned him.

He is a big baby, and loves attention! I am very excited to work with him to turn him into a hunter-pleasure or country-pleasure mount! He is a sweetie!

Take care!
