I'm not sure what the big deal is... this is simply her stepping down as interim chair of the WEG 2010 Foundation. I think the key word is "interim." It doesn't appear she intended to take the role of chair as a long-term commitment; I found the initial press release, and she filled the position in April, 2007 when Jim Host stepped down. This latest news doesn't say whether she is still a member of the Foundation board, but my guess is that she is, just not serving as chair.

As far as I know, Tandy is still serving as chair of the KY Horse Park Commission and as a member of the KY State Fair Board. Her role on those two boards alone give her much opportunity to be an advocate for our breed.
