This weekend I did a trail ride that was about 20 miles.
I am really amazed at how my mare did, I havent been riding a whole lot with all the rain we've had. I went out with a thoroughbred and a quarter horse. The running topic was wow she's such a nice horse for a saddlebred. For some things i keep my mouth shut.Which is always a topic when you mention that you have one. Then there is the scrunched up face or the pregnant pause lOL.
I grew up with arabs, and i always assumed that they were the only true endurance horses. Saddlebreds have changed my mind. I am looking forward to conditioning her to hopefully do competitive rides in the spring. Since i just got a horse trailer and have more options as to how i was to use her.
Another note of praise. after we got back to the barn. They all said she's not even tired looks like she got go for another 3 hours. She is making me proud.
