Congratulations to all! A field of 26 (? would have to go check) narrowed down to 10. A very long day for all. I really enjoyed watching. Special thanks to the sponsors that made everything possible. A great introduction to the Mane Event.
Faye was spectacular! And congrats to Deanna and Hunter. In fact, all that worked so hard!
Also special thanks to Bob, Dale and Donna for the website coming to fruition. Teddy's Dad too!!

26 that's so great! I talked a bit with Michael Craghead about judging it before I left for study abroad and he was VERY excited to judge it. He's such a perfectionist that I'm sure he enjoyed picking out his favorites.
I'm very happy for Faye and Zodi, they make such a beautiful pair!

There weren't 26 there were 14...which is still up from last years finals. Phase 1 at 8am had two splits of seven and when Phase 2 went back at the end of the afternoon session it had been cut to 10. Those Top Ten went back in again at 7pm for the awards ceremony.
I couldn't be more proud of Faye who has truly given it her all this season and has formed such a bond with Zodi in just their first year together. That kid is truly gifted on a horse! That being said Hunter is also one to applaud for making top three on a newly equitated horse. All our DeLovely girls made us proud that day :) Now onto the UPHA and USEF Finals!

Thank you Jesse for the clarification. I missed most of the morning with the standard workout and like Christy was watching in the afternoon.
I looked at the The Contenders list and there were 25 (as I questioned earlier) riders there. I assumed those were the entries. They may have been and didn't attend or they may have been those that qualified this year. Not sure. Perhaps someone can clear this one up.
I feel badly that 4 didn't make it to the afternoon. It was a long day for all. but a great honor to be there.

I believe the 25 listed on The Contenders section of the website was just a list of riders who qualified for the '09 Good Hands Finals. I can't imagine how long of a day it would have been if all 25 had showed, it was long enough as is! Eq finals are exhausting for everyone involved (the kids, the horses, the trainers/instructors, and the grooms)....I felt so bad for the two eq horses I take care of when I went in and braced them for the third time that day and now that they are home the tail sets are off for the week.
