Is the offspring from a cross between a Hackney horse and a Hackney Pony eligible for registration???

Anke,
I don't see any regulation prohibiting it.

There is a single registry in the US for both Hackney horses and ponies. On their papers, Hackneys are noted as "Horse" or "Pony", so I guess the offspring can be either depending on its eventual size.

No problem at all Anke as long as both are DNA'd. The registry makes no distinction..if he is pony sized he will have a "P" beside his number in the stud book or an H

I did not see any problem either, but I guess registration would stay pending till the offspring would hit 14.3hh. Reason I'm asking that I know of a very nice Hackney stud in the UK, that has lots of white and would be considered Pinto, but he is 15.3hh.....I have a Hackney filly (pony) that is well bred, loads of motion off all corners, but after her Dam took her aggression out on her, it left her 'handicapped' (neck), I have been debating on breeding her, but would really like a chance in getting offspring that could be registered as Pinto, besides Hackney.
I think I am going to call the Hackney Association and see what it would take.
thanks!
