EXCITING NEWS FOR THE LOUISVILLE LUNCHEON!!!

Look for a formal press release to come shortly - however, a 2 day clinic has been donated by Ms. Lillian Shively of DeLovely Farm. This is open to an adult or a juvenile rider. The certificate holder will work with Lillian on an agreeable time.

This item does have a reserve, and will be available for bid at the Louisville Luncheon and on the Saddlebred Rescue website discussion forum.

The Louisville Luncheon is Thursday, August 27th at the Hilton Garden Inn - Airport (Gate 4) during the World's Championship Horse Show in Louisville, KY. Lunch starts at Noon. Tickets are currently available for $15.00. Please purchase your tickets in advance; last year this event was SOLD OUT!

This year we are also having a Treasure Chest - the Chest is full of goodies with a value over $1,800. You may purchase keys for $5.00. You can try your key to the Chest lock at the Luncheon!

WOULD YOU LIKE TO DONATE SOMETHING?? - please email me, we are currently accepting doantions for items for the auction and raffle. Items do not have to be horse related or even breed specific.

 Here is an update that Sarah Liebert Garner asked me to post about the luncheon: tickets for the luncheon and the treasure chest raffle are still available.

PLEASE!!!! We DO NEED your support!!!! The Luncheon is a HUGE savior of the Treasures in terms of their needs. 100% goes to the horses and this is THE major fundraiser for the year.

PLEASE, if you can attend the Luncheon, order a ticket at only $15.00 (yes, ONLY $15.00) each. Please ask your friends to come too!!!

AND you can order TREASURE Chest tickets at only $5.00 each. You will STILL have a chance at winning the Treasure Chest and tickets are limited. This gives you a REALLY GOOD CHANCE at winning the Grand Prize valued at over $1,200!!!! You don't have to attend the Luncheon to win.

Again, $15.00 for Luncheon Tickets. $5.00 for TREASURE Chest tickets.

Please make checks payable to Saddlebred Rescue and send with a self-addressed stamped envelope to:

Saddlebred Rescue
P.O. Box 546
Goshen, KY 40026

IMPORTANT: Please note on your check how many Luncheon Tickets and how many Treasure Chest tickets you would like.

Let's help our TREASURES get fit and ready to be adopted to their forever homes.

If you haven't checked out the list of items, an important item that isn't listed is a donation from my boss Lillian Shively. 2 days with Lillian, 4 lessons, a priceless item, since she doesn't accept many outside riders. Get your bids in, this is a onetime offer!

Lillian's generous donation is listed on the updated list, that's in the thread on SBR that I attached.

Also, moderators, do you think this is visible enough or should it be a thread. I had a hard time finding, it myself after I posted Sarah and Bess's reminder to everyone to support this fund raiser! :D

Sarah Liebert Garner, Director of promotion and fund raising for SBR went to see the Hilton Garden Inn today and is very excited for the luncheon venue this year. She said it is lovely and will accomodate many people. Please, if you are attending the WCHS this year and are available on Thursday afternoon, come in out of the heat and join us for the auction and lunch.

The auction was great, some very frenzied bidding in the last few minutes, as people were determined to get the items they had their eye on.
I was the final bidder on the horse/human gift basket, lots of chocolate for the human, and gummi bears, jelly beans, and normal treats for the horse.
A very special Thank You to the person who bid on the 2 day clinic with Lillian, an amazing $4250 was the final bid.
We will post the final totals as soon as Pat and Sarah have a chance to catch their breath, and count the money, but I think this was an amazing success!
Great job Sarah!

The Luncheon was a HUGE success!!!

My THANK YOU'S go out to all of the volunteers who helped bring this together. And I must mention my brother on this too. He helped with the load in, Luncheon time and Load out!!! My brother is the BEST!

This has been in the planning stages since last year's Luncheon and no one could bring it to fruition except for Sarah. She has outdone herself once again.

I don't yet know the talley's, have been told that goals were met, but the Horse Show isn't over with yet!!:)

Congratulations to all that won the bidding items and the Secret Treasure Chest (Amy)!!!

I am so happy that everyone had a great meal and a fantastic time visiting.

I will post a few pictures when I receive them. Thank you all again for your support!!!

I was very proud to be a volunteer at this year's very successful luncheon. I agree with Canter's assessment, that Sarah Liebert Garner has outdone herself. The luncheon was beautiful, and very professionally done.

The cookbooks are fabulous and sold like hotcakes. Neilia had me in tears with her "very from the heart" speech. Karen Klistin did a great job at the monitoring of the auction. I would like to especially thank the guests who attended. And hope many more can attend in the future.

This will be formally announced in a few days, but we have a great new item for the 2010 Louisville Luncheon. Dr. Scott Bennett of Equine Services and Alliance Stud has generously donated a weeks stay at his vacation home on St. Lucia.
Check out the website, this beautiful home has 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, a pool, and views of the Carribean Sea to die for.

Vacation will have to be taken in January, so check your calendars, and figure out who your closest friends are.
And most importantly, bid on this great item!
