Some of you may remember Sebastian, a horse tentatively IDed by trot.org-ers as Innamorata Supreme. Sebastian was rescued by a trot.org member and rehabbed. Apparently, he was then placed with someone who was supposed to be his forever home. However, this person decided to sell him. When Sebastian came into our lives, we found an ad listing him online for a small amount of money. We brought him home, and he was in very poor shape once again. "Sabby" gained weight and turned into a wonderful riding horse. He was purchased for the express purpose to be my fiancee's horse. He gave us several wonderful years-- he loved to run and play with his field buddies, and he was always the first horse to come up to people. He had a huge trot that matched his huge heart. My sister and I frequently rode him and her non-SB trail horse in the nearby city park. Sebastian was wonderful for lunging lessons and practice riding. Sabby loved to trot as fast as a roadster, and he expected his rider to enjoy this speed as much as he did. He was my mother's favorite steed, and he taught Travis (my fiancee) lots of horsey lessons. We will forever be grateful to him.
When we came home on Tuesday, Sebastian was down in his field. After we spent nearly 13 hours with him fighting the colic, we sent Sebastian home early Christmas Eve morning. Here's to you Sabby- We love and miss you very much.
