I have been looking for a lesson facility for my daughter. I had really hoped to go to Betsy Webb but someone told me she is moving. Any information on this?
Also, are there any other places in the area worth checking out?
Please help as I would like to do lessons as a Christmas gift.

Premier Stables is on Shelbyville Road between Simpsonville and Middletown.

It is probably a lot closer than Rock Creek in St. Matthews

Signature Stables at Rock Creek in Louisville has a great lesson program. Chad Cole and Michelle McMahon are wonderful instructors :)

The reason I had chosen Betsy was that a friend of my daughter's did some lessons there and loved it. They were going to ride together. So, does anyone know if she is moving and to what area?

I heard they had some kind of brouhaha over a Saddle Seat barn in a neighborhood that was unfriendly to ASB's and the way they are trained or kept.
Why don't you call Betsy Webb Stables and ask them if they are moving? 502.244.7667

My understanding is that Betsy's lease is running out and is not being renewed. That's what I was told nearly a year ago. Mlinky is a customer there. She can respond to these questions.

Betsy will be moving early this summer. She has located property in the east end of Jefferson County not far from her current barn, and is beginning construction of her facility soon. Sign up. It is a wonderful place and Betsy is great!
There was an option on property in Anchorage. That went by the wayside when a neighbor who wanted the property for himself started a nasty letter writing campaign.

Neighbors can be such snots. Don't people understand that a good riding facility will keep their kids out of trouble! Horses raise great kids.
Will lessons continue during the move, just transition from one place to the next?
I will give the barn a call and get something arranged.
Thanks

I absolutely guarantee that lessons will continue. Betsy is the most organized person on the planet, and the new facility will be fabulous! Can't wait to meet you. IM me.

Doodlebug,
I second Premier Stables. If they are close enough to you, of course. But Sarah is and EXCELLENT instructor and her lessons are a full body workout! She has a great string of lesson horses and I always had tons of fun when I went to ride. Hope this helps.

My daughter and sister travel from Michigan to take lessons with Jo Cornell. They love the time they spend there. Obviously, it they drive six hours, they highly recommend Jo.

You could check out Win Gait Stables. Donna and Wendell are wonderful people. I have been there for 15 years. I rode with another stable for a couple of years before I moved. You can check out their website at www.wingait.com or call them at 231-0614
They are located off the Gene Snyder between the Buelah Church and Smyrna Exits.

Amazingly enough, there is still some misinformation going around. So, to clarify what is happening:
1) Betsy will be moving to a new facilty this summer;
2) It is being constructed on property about 5 miles from her current location in eastern Jefferson County (but NOT in Anchorage);
3) The barn will contain multiple indoor arenas and approximately 100 stalls;
4) Lessons, training etc. will continue uninterrupted.
