Jamaica is a KWPN Dutch Harness Horse sired by the great KWPN-approved Hackney Horse stallion Cambridge Cole and out of a Dutch Harness Horse mare named Welkom by Noran. Chester Weber and USEF generically call Jamaica a "Dutch Warmblood" as he is KWPN registered, but he is for fact registered in the Harness Horse book of the KWPN. http://www.chesterweber.com/hjamaica.html

Adams Fire is shown as a Half-Arabian, but he is out of a Dutch Harness Horse mare. He was part of the first foal crop of Arabian/Dutch Harness Horse crosses born in North America. The mare he is out of is Ritida, who is sired by Majesteit who is in turn by Immigrant aka Callaway's Mardi Gras. http://www.starlinearabians.com/news.asp

He looks quite a typy boy!

It is wonderful that a 'surplus, slaughter prospect' has fulfilled his true potential; those Combined Driving horses need plenty of courage, power and stamina for their work.

What a wonderful story.

I had no idea Adams Fire was half DHH! I would like to get my hands on that mare! That is a fantastic horse!

Adams Afire is a gelding ...

Trivia. My horses are at the former Starline Arabians in Temecula. When we moved there, the Laurences still owned the place. They also still have their West Coast horses in training with the trainer there.

More trivia - my own trainer is the one who originally "made" the Friesian who is up for HOTY as well, Dante. When she had him, he was undefeated as a Park Horse. Unfortunately, with not that many Friesians out there, many of the honors that are won are for one and two horse classes ... doesn't mean that the horses aren't good, just means that there isn't that much competition (usually). Although, we did have about 8-10 in the walk and trot class at Del Mar this year.

I think Stephanie is talking about Adams Fire's dam- she is owned by Tim & Marty Shea http://www.sheastables.com/the-mares/Ritida.html

Adams Fire was a stallion through at least his junior year, I have no idea if they ever collected and froze any semen from him when he was a stallion.

Yes, Sorry, I was refering to his dam.

If she can produce a winner like that, chances are she can produce more. Looks like Adams Fire has some full siblings out there?
