Buzz up! A second person has died as the result of injuries sustained in an auto accident that occurred on Shelbyville Road last night, according to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.
Robert Bell, 79, of the 1500 block of Gilliland Road, died at 9:18 this morning at University Hospital, said deputy coroner Eddie Robinson.
Bell was the driver of a Cadillac that was hit head-on by a Chevrolet Trailblazer that lost control on Shelbyville Road near Locust Creek Boulevard at 5:40 p.m. yesterday.
His wife, Nancy Bell, 85, who was riding in the passenger seat of the Cadillac, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Both died of multiple blunt-force injuries sustained in the crash, Robinson said.
The driver of the Trailblazer was uninjured. Two children, ages 6 and 7, who were riding in that vehicle, were taken to Kosair Children’s Hospital for observation.
Alicia Smiley, a spokeswoman for Metro Louisville Police, said no charges are expected to be filed at this time.
I know this is a reprint so I understand if it needs to be reposted another way but I am afraid of what the answer is and I don't know who to contact
