From January 29th - February 1st, 2000, ASHA will sponsor a breed booth at the West Coast Equine Affaire® event, being held at the Los Angeles County Fair Grounds in Pomona, MA. Equine Affaire®, the nation's premiere national equine exposition and equestrian gathering, organizes four days of clinics, seminars, demonstrations and exhibits, with an expected attendance of tens of thousands of horse people. This is our eighth consecutive appearance at the West Coast event and it has grown from a grass roots event to a Charter Club sponsored event to now, an ASHA sponsored event. We are thrilled at the support and progress that we have seen over the years.
The ASHA booth will feature the versatility of the American Saddlebred Horse, highlighting the “I’ll Take You There” campaign. This is an unprecedented opportunity for us to engage thousands of people and educate them about the wonderful breed we all love.
Saddlebred-loving volunteers are needed to help staff the breed booth, signing up for 4-hour shifts throughout the four days of the event, running from 9AM to 7:30 PM. Volunteer for a few hours in the booth and then spend the rest of the day watching the demonstrations and browsing all the exhibits!
We will have not only the breed booth, but also a petting horse in attendance, so volunteers are needed to move horses to/from the stabling facilities. Additionally, we will once again have a breed demonstration highlighting the versatility of our breed and this year have something very special planned ... not only do we have a dressage horse, but our dressage rider is going to return as our 5-gaited rider, thus dispelling some of the myths that abound between dressage and saddle seat!
If you are interested in volunteering for the booth, donating items for our raffle or volunteering horses as petting horses or for the demonstration please contact Kathie Dunn (attafox) k-dunn@cox.net .
