Who's going?

We'll be there to watch and to cheer on Rachael (ridin03)!

I'll be there for Saddle & Bridle. I don't know how many Fran and Kim are taking, if any since our big guy won't go. If the weather is nice, I'll be bringing my little Brittany, Rebel. Say hi if you see us!

And, good luck to everyone. Hopefully, I'll show my big colt there next year. We have to figure out our division over the winter. We all have our fingers crossed that he'll learn to rack the turns this winter.

I've really missed showing at the KASPHA shows this year. :)

Littlefrog - stop by and say hi if you see me. :) I'll either have a stroller with a small child in it or I'll be 'wearing' him ... Dragging along a disgruntled husband, more than likely. Unless, of course, the husband decides to keep the baby and let me attend alone (gasp!). Either way, we should meet up!

My daughter will be riding in the Jr Exh Country Pleasure class on Friday night and will be working the academy classes on Saturday. I'm sure that Jr Exh CP class will be a big class!

Well, you all need to find me as well!

I love the KASPHA shows - I just wish that more of the Shelbyville community would come out to watch.

I'll be there! My horse will be showing in something with one of my trainers (who knows what, his mane has been growing out so I don't know if we will trim him or go park), and I'll be showing for the first time in over a year. Most likely in the natural pleasure class.

Snap - for sure! Should we plan on wearing head-to-toe UK gear so we're easy to spot? :D

what time does it start?

I will be there, first time I will be shipping and showing a horse all by myself and I am scared to death. I usually have one of my daughters with me for moral support. Fortunately, I will have one of my friends come later. Just need some to say "Go Beth". Also, the mare I'm bringing has only been off the farm twice, should be interesting!

Crumplers aren't bringing any since they're on a well deserved vacation, but mom and I will be there as I'm writing the show up for the magazine. With the weather, I'm leaving Rebs at home in case it rains. He absolutely hates the rain and will not go out in it. Temperature-wise, it should be lovely.

Good luck to everyone who shows tonight. It is really weird just going to watch. :)

Is it still on for tonight, since it's soupy and stormy out?

Anyway know the name of the photographer and does the person have a webpage? The horse show was great! Most of the classes were well filled with quality entries.

I was there for the first 11 classes last night and had to leave ... It was just going too slow for me. The classes I saw, though, were very nice, well-filled, and everyone seemed to be having a good time, despite the DISGUSTING heat.

Here's the photographer's website, but the pictures aren't up yet. http://www.korffimages.com/

I think kyimages.com and valwebcreations.com will also have pictures.

Congratulations to Rachael (ridin03) on her 3rd place ribbon in the Natural Pleasure class! Great return to the show ring, Rach! And congratulations to all the other riders as well, of course!!

littlefrog - I'm pretty sure I was sitting next to you. Were you with a woman that was knitting some socks? :) I was the brunette in the red t-shirt. I wanted to say hi, but I wasn't absolutely positive that it was you ... But I thought you looked familiar, since I kinda remembered what you looked like from having that GORGEOUS Brittany at the May Classic!

And Fanfare - I saw you running around, talking on a cell, but I couldn't flag you down fast enough to say hi.

Yep, that was me with the knitting lady. Mom's always working on some project or another. She's been working on socks and baby sweaters for friends' grandchildren. She made a smocked dress, a sweater, and little booties for Julie Wroble's little girl Lilah.

It was way too hot to bring Rebs, and it went so slow he would have been miserable. I hope to get him to more shows next year, but it was too hot at the outdoor ones and indoor ones are too loud and freak him out. With that Brittany coat, he's definitely a cold weather doggie.

I thought it was wonderful to see so many of the non-pleasure classes so well filled. Hopefully, our big guy and I will show there next year and at May Classic as well. The division is still totally up in the air as he will get "re-gaited" this winter, and we'll decide from there.

All of the volunteers with KASPHA do a great job putting their shows on year after year. I think that's always important to remember with their shows, the office people etc are all volunteers, donating their time and effort so we can have the best show possible. It honestly wouldn't be possible without them.

I completely agree with this. It's a wonderful show and has that personal touch that the volunteers, families, and exhibitors bring.

Does anyone happen to have the results from the Natural Pleasure class? If so, could you please post them? Thanks in advance!

Beth, you did great, and your mare looked wonderful as a western horse.

I'm disappointed that there are no results posted anywhere for both the Friday night's show and the academy classes. I would like to see both day's results for the KASPHA show.

Until results get posted, you can check out proofs online. It looks like first and second place winners made victory passes.

The show photographer has proofs posted at Korff Images (http://www.korffimages.com/2008%20KASPHA%20Kentucky%20State%20Championship%20 Horse%20Show)

Gayle Strickroot has a few proofs posted, classes 2-15 so far. http://www.kyimages.com/gallery2/v/saddlebred/saddlebred/Saddlebred+07_011_002/ I'm guessing that she'll post more as she can.

Hey,
For those requesting Show results - Show Ring Times has them up on their website at www.showringtimes.com (Show Results). We are still waiting to receive the academy results. Once we have them, we'll be able to get them up on the results site as well.
Thanks!
