Our dear little Shetland, Eureka, passed away in the night last night. Vet was here the last 2 days, she just couldn't seem to breathe well enough and had severe diarrhea. She seemed to be alittle brighter yesterday morning, she nickered to me when I came in the barn. But, today, she was gone. I am glad her suffering has ended and she is at peace.

I am dreading telling "her girl", my daughter, Grace. I got her to school without telling her, but this afternoon will be horrible. They were really best friends, Grace pulled a chair over to Reka's stall last night to read to her. Please keep Gracie in your thoughts, she will be heartbroken when she hears.

God speed, Reka! We loved you so! May you be free of pain forever.
